A great pub sells great beer. We listen to what our customers would like to see and do our best to keep them happy! As a free house, we can offer a range of quality, hand-pulled cask ales, ranging from well-known brands to regional favourites.

With a climate-controlled cellar, delivering bitter at the perfect drinking temperature all year round, serving a good pint is a serious business. At The Commercial, Anthony, Leanne and their staff serve a "perfect pint" and the customers are showing their appreciation.

And if beer's not your thing, there's a well-stocked bar, with a wide selection of wines, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks to suit all tastes.

Anthony is especially proud of his large selection of single-malt whiskies, which are a firm favourite with many of our regulars and occasional visitors alike.

The selection of drinks below is always available

            Aspall's Suffolk Cyder: 4.5% ABV

San Miguel premium lager: 5.0% ABV

Peroni Nastro Azzurro lager: 5.1% ABV

            Strongbow Dark Fruit: 4.0% ABV

            Coors Light lager: 4.0% ABV

            Carling lager: 4.1% ABV

            Boddingtons bitter: 3.8% ABV

            Guinness: 4.1% ABV

Our selection of real ales is changed regularly to offer a wide range from our favourite brewers. We always keep a typical "session beer" of around 3.8 to 4.1 ABV; a slightly stronger ale of 4.1 to 4.7 ABV and a premium-strength beer of around 5.0+ ABV. This way, every taste is catered for!

We always have three from the selection below available for you to enjoy:

Fuller's London Pride: 4.1% ABV (Chiswick)

Best known for its exceptional balance of malt and hops, giving rise to well-rounded flavour.

William Bass Cask Ale: 4.4% ABV (Bedfordshire)

An amber ale, still brewed to an original recipe using only the finest ingredients and the experience of generations. It is brewed with two strains of yeast to produce a complex nutty, malty taste with subtle hop undertones, which has widespread appeal to repertoire drinkers.

Kelham Island Pale Rider: 5.2% ABV (Sheffield)

The legendary golden hoppy pale ale. An award winning beer from its earliest days and still with the same great taste today.

Phoenix Double Gold: 5.0% ABV (Heywood)

Full bodied premium bitter.

Phoenix Spotland Gold: 4.1% ABV (Heywood)

Crisp hoppy pale ale.

Phoenix White Tornado: 4.3% ABV (Heywood)

Clear Wheat beer. Fresh tasting. Lingering bitter finish.

            Phoenix Arizona: 4.1% ABV (Heywood)

Dry as a desert. Refreshing as an oasis.

Sharp's Doom Bar: 4.0% ABV (Rock, Cornwall)

An amber ale, with an enticing aroma of resinous hop, sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a balanced, complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malt and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The finish is dry and refreshing.
